Do I need a passport?

Travelers do not need a passport when you arrive in the USVI (St Thomas) if you are a US citizen. Having a passport, however, will make life simpler when re-entering the US. If you do not have a passport, a birth certificate or driver's license will be required and accepted.

What if I lose my luggage?

If your luggage is lost and does not arrive with your flight, first report the missing bags to your airline. They will then deliver to the Residence Club when baggage arrives.

What side of the road do I drive?

Vehicles drive on the left-hand side of the road on St Thomas which is opposite of the United States. However, steering wheels are on the left hand side, which is the same as the United States. Remember to always wear your seat belt.

Will I be able to use my cell phone?

The main carriers on the island are AT&T, Cingular and Sprint. There are also many Wi-Fi hot spots around the island if you wish to use Skype to communicate with friends and family around the world. Please also remember that talking on cell phones while driving is against the law in the USVI and St Thomas. You will be stopped and ticketed.

Passenger and limited car ferry services to neighboring islands such as Water Island, St John, St Croix, and the British Virgin Islands run regularly out of the Red Hook Terminal (minutes from St Thomas Residence Club), Charlotte Amalie, and Crown Bay Marina.
